Error Messages

Sometimes throughout the model-building process, error messages appear to show the user that an improper function has been encountered. If this happens, do not panic! Most likely the reason for this error is due to the incorrect data input. For example:

In this instance, the user clicked on “Run” and the error message above appeared. The error message explains that a value typed into one of the conditions is flawed. To resolve the problem, click on “Design” to return to the model and correct the error by clicking on the condition that was stated in the error message. The error can be corrected by removing one or more values. Take the time to carefully form the model before inputting any data into the system. To test your expert system click on the “Run” tab and go through each condition and action. In other instances the following data entry error screens may appear:

To avoid these errors the user must input a model name, condition name, and action name.
